UM Shore Regional Health Receives 4th Magnet® Designation

UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, has earned re-designation as a Magnet® organization from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes health care organizations that meet rigorous standards for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. The coveted recognition is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice and requires re-designation every four years.

Roger D. Brown Education Center Dedicated at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown

The University of Maryland Chester River Health Foundation (UM CRHF) recently hosted a dedication of the Roger D. Brown Education Center in the Aging & Wellness Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. The event was attended by approximately 60 of Brown’s friends, family members and community members. UM CRHF supports the advancement of patient care programs at the Chestertown hospital, which is part of University Maryland Shore Regional Health and the University of Maryland Medical System.

Birthing Center at UM Shore Regional Health’s JADA System Proves a Lifesaver for Salisbury Mother

Salisbury resident Kerri Madero had a bad feeling when she and her partner, Lindsay Tortorella, left for the hospital on the morning of January 11, 2024, for a routine birth induction at the Birthing Center at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. Tortorella hoped that Madero’s apprehension was due to anxiety or fear, and tried to think positively about the imminent birth of the couple’s first child. 

UM Shore Regional Health Recognizes National Donate Life Month

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, observes National Donate Life Month in April, honoring organ donors and bringing awareness to saving or enhancing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation. 

UM Shore Regional Health’s Heart and Vascular Center Celebrates Cardiac Catheterization Lab Renovations with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

A major renovation project recently completed in one of UM Shore Regional Health's two cardiac catheterization labs has facilitated state-of-the-art improvements in cardiac care provided at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, which is an accredited Cardiac Intervention Center (CIC). UM SRH is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS).

UM Shore Regional Health’s Next Community CPR Course is March 13

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health's next "Saving Lives Together: CPR Basics for Community Heroes" non-certification course will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. The course is offered quarterly, in-person at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, 100 Brown St. There is no charge for the course, but registration is required.

SCOT Provides Blood Pressure Screenings for Dixon Group Employees

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health's (UM SRH) Shore Community Outreach Team (SCOT) recently partnered with the Dixon Group to provide blood pressure screenings for 65 Dixon employees at four of the company's Chestertown locations: Dixon Specialty Products, BOSS, Distribution, and Headquarters. UM SRH is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.
