UM Shore Regional Health to Offer Winter/Spring “Don’t Worry, Be Healthy” Course Beginning January 24

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, will host an in-person, five-session workshop titled "Don't Worry, Be Healthy," beginning January 24, 2024. Designed to teach participants how to stay healthy by making healthier and safer choices, the workshop will meet once per month, in-person at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, 100 Brown Street, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for the course, but advance registration is required.

UM Shore Regional Health Announces 2024 Childbirth and Education Courses

The Birthing Center at UM Shore Regional Health's Shore Medical Center at Easton will provide several classes related to childbirth, parenting, breastfeeding and being a safe sibling throughout 2024. The Birthing Center team also offers ongoing breastfeeding support, as well as certified Safe Sitter courses for adolescent babysitters, led by experienced maternal care nurses and lactation consultants. With the exception of the Safe Sitter course, all classes are offered free of charge.

UM Shore Regional Health Environmental Services Team Member Wins CAPE Award

Debra Powell, an Environmental Services (EVS) team member at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton, recently won the Cintas Corporation's CAPE Award, which honors team members for their dedication in keeping patients, team members and visitors safe and stopping the spread of infection through Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs). UM Shore Medical Center at Easton is a University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) hospital; UM SRH is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Chestertown Angel Tree Spreads Christmas Cheer

The Chester River Health Foundation sponsored its annual Angel Tree this holiday season on which "holiday wishes" were hung for children in the Kent and Queen Anne's counties" foster care programs and for adults with developmental disabilities served by the Kent Center.
