At the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center's Valve Clinic, our mission is simple: to restore function to a diseased heart valve. Our Valve Clinic is staffed with a team of cardiologists, heart surgeons, echocardiographers, intensive care physicians, pulmonologists and other medical specialists.

We see patients for a variety of heart valve conditions including:

  • Mitral Regurgitation
  • Mitral Stenosis
  • Tricuspid Regurgitation
  • Aortic Stenosis or Insufficiency
  • Bicuspid Aortic Valve, Aortic Root Dilatation and Tricuspid Regurgitation

Our goal for patients who require heart valve surgery is to restore function and preserve the native valve whenever possible. We believe that a well-functioning native valve results in the best outcomes for our patients.
