Nursing Student Programs

At UM St. Joseph Medical Center, we offer innovative student nursing education opportunities as well as mentorship and support through multiple programs.

With the support of nursing leadership and the Center for Clinical Excellence and Professional Development, we provide our colleagues—in every role, at every level—with the resources, information and support they need to thrive and be happy at work.

The nursing student programs we offer include:

• Student Nurse Program - The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center offers nursing students who have completed their Fundamentals of Nursing course the opportunity to apply for a student nurse position.
• Practicum to Practice Program (P3) - UMMS offers nursing students a 1:1 senior practicum placement if they interview for and accept their first job as a clinical nurse on the practicum unit, prior to the start of the practicum.
