Departmental Scope of Services

As one of the largest heart centers in Maryland, we perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures. Our department consists of six state-of-the-art catheterization labs supported by a Prep and Recovery Unit.

Types of Patients Served

Patients in need of both diagnostic and interventional care involving the coronary, carotid, and peripheral arteries are treated. In addition patients who require EP studies, Pacemaker and ICD insertion and ASD/PFO closures are also cared for.

Overview of Department Services

Utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach, we feel we are able to best serve our patients. We provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We treat outpatients and emergencies as well as a high volume of transfers from other facilities throughout the State. We are proud that our "door to balloon" times are well below the standard set by the A.C.C.

Staffing Model

We are staffed with critical care nurses, radiology technologists and registered cardiovascular invasive technicians. Non-physician staff report to the PCC/SCC who work under the direction of the cath lab manager. We are proud to work with a talented group of physicians and are gratified by the excellent work we accomplish together.
