Mother-Baby Unit at UM St. Joseph
Located on the third floor of UM St. Joseph Medical Center, the Mother-Baby Unit is where our new moms and babies (along with their partners and families) begin the bonding process. Learn more about Pregnancy and Childbirth at UM St. Joseph.
Visitor Information
Typically our visiting policy has been that new mothers may choose one adult visitor for 24-hour-a-day visiting access. And siblings may also visit; however, non-sibling children must be at least 18 years old.
Visitation guidelines to keep in mind:
- All visitors to Labor, Delivery and Recovery and the Mother/Baby unit must have a visitor badge. A valid photo ID is required.
- Because it is important for new mothers to rest, visiting hours are from 8 am-8 pm. Partners have visiting access 24/7.
- A visitor may not enter the patient care unit if he or she has a cold, cough, chicken pox, fever or evidence of infection.
Parking
Parking is available on the lot adjacent to the main hospital or in the parking garage.
