Pediatrics After Hours Emergency Care
Open every day from noon to midnight, After-Hours Pediatric Emergency Care offers expert, responsive and accessible care to children and adolescents and peace of mind to parents.
An extension of University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center Emergency Department, this service is located in the Cynthia "Brownie" Goetze Pediatrics Unit. It provides treatment to patients up to age 17 when doctor's offices are closed or additional specialists are needed to accommodate emergency visits.
Through this service, we treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries, including:
- Abdominal pain
- Allergic reactions
- Asthma or other breathing problems
- Broken bones
- Burns
- Cuts and other wounds
- Fever or infection
- Head injuries (including concussion)
- Pneumonia
- Severe dehydration, diarrhea or vomiting
- Sprains
- Thoughts of hurting oneself or others
Our after-hours care team is highly skilled at comforting and meeting the unique needs of young patients in a comfortable, family-centered environment.
