Chemotherapy treatment for cancer

Medical oncologists are cancer specialists who oversee general cancer care and coordinate treatments with other specialists. Often, they are the main care provider for someone who has been diagnosed with cancer. 

At UM Upper Chesapeake Health, our highly experienced medical oncologists and specialty specific nurse practitioners work as a team to guide your cancer care. 

Our Medical Oncology Services

Our medical oncologists can help with all stages of cancer care. They assess initial test results, make recommendations if additional testing is needed, develop and manage a care plan and corresponding course of treatment. They also oversee your long-term follow-up care after treatment.

Our medical oncology team helps with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapy. You’ll have a nurse navigator to guide you and your family through your therapy and coordinate with specialists as needed.

We have two cancer treatment centers in Harford County, so you have an option close to home: Kaufman Cancer Center in Bel Air and our center in Aberdeen. To learn more about our oncology services, call 443-643-3350.

Oncology Support Services 

You also have access to support services like a dietitian, social worker, support groups and mental health resources. Your care team will help connect you with the right resources when you need them.
