Balance Rehabilitation
Balance is essential throughout your day, whether you're completing activities around your house, at work or for pleasure. Balance deficits shouldn't be a normal part of your life, no matter what your age is.
Our balance training program can help you overcome unsteadiness, reduce dizziness and vertigo, and lower the risk of falls to improve your quality of life.
As part of the comprehensive rehabilitation program at UM Upper Chesapeake Health, we offer the Neurocom balance assessment and treatment program. The Neurocom technology helps identify reasons why balance may be abnormal by testing the different sensory systems in the body that contribute to maintaining balance.
The program offers specialized care for individuals experiencing symptoms of neuropathy. Team members focus on addressing peripheral neuropathy, a condition affecting the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, which can significantly impact your sense of touch, balance and mobility. Through targeted exercises and techniques, our program aims to improve stability, reduce fall risk, and enhance overall quality of life for those living with the condition. Additionally, our balance training program provides treatment for general nerve damage, helping individuals regain confidence and independence they had prior to their diagnosis.
Our balance rehabilitation program includes these key areas of treatment:
- Concussion
- Dizziness
- Neuro rehabilitation
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Vestibular rehabilitation
The UM Upper Chesapeake Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently the only location in Harford County to provide this unique form of treatment.
