Pediatric Rehabilitation
Pediatric trained therapists provide comprehensive assessment and customized treatment plans for children who have developmental and rehabilitation needs. Occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech language pathology services are available to address concerns and facilitate normal development for children who were born prematurely, have a congenital birth defect or appear to be developing slowly in any particular area. We also provide therapy for children who have had an injury or illness that affects development, such as autism, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, torticollis, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury and concussion.
Treatment plans address communication, language, gross and fine motor coordination and activities of daily living deficits. The family is embraced as a participant in the therapeutic process and parental collaboration and education is emphasized.
Parents who have questions or concerns about their child's development or want to maximize their child's normal development are welcome to contact us for an assessment.
Pediatric rehabilitation at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health is also available as an adjunct to your child's school-based therapy program. Our services are provided at Pavilion II.
