The surgery team at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health does common and complex procedures for a wide range of conditions.

From general to specialty surgery, our highly trained team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and patient care technicians delivers exceptional care to both adult and pediatric patients. We offer both inpatient and outpatient procedures at several convenient locations to better serve your needs.

We prioritize your comfort, safety, and support from your initial consultation through your recovery, aiming to ensure the best possible surgical outcomes.

With the latest and best techniques and technologies, our surgical care team performs traditional open surgery as well as minimally invasive procedures, including:

• Orthopedic surgery (hand, joint and spine)

Locations

UM Chesapeake Surgery Center

The UM Chesapeake Surgery Center, located on the Bel Air campus, will offer outpatient procedures performed in state-of-the-art surgical suites. If necessary, patients will be able to remain at the facility for up to 23 hours after their procedure.

Surgeons affiliated with physician practices (including Upper Chesapeake Surgical Associates) will perform outpatient orthopedic (i.e., spine and hand), plastic, and reconstructive surgeries. In addition, it will have a large rehabilitation gym for patients recovering from joint replacement and other procedures.

Klein Ambulatory Care Center

Both inpatient and outpatient surgeries are done at the Klein Ambulatory Care Center, located next to UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
