Our visitation guidelines have been developed to promote a safe and supportive environment for our patients.
Please note that all visitors must enter through the exterior Family Birthplace entrance and not from the main hospital.
Access to the Family Birthplace
- Our unit is locked for the safety of our patients
- Upon entry to the Family Birthplace, all visitors must submit their ID to the receptionist at the entry desk in exchange for a visitor badge
- When the visitor leaves, the badge should be returned to the receptionist and their ID will be returned
- Only a hospital team member can issue visitor badges; badges should not be traded by visitors
- Patients with respiratory symptoms including coughing, sneezing, runny nose or fever will need to wear a mask when in common areas and when team members enter the patient room, except when eating or sleeping
- No one with respiratory symptoms, fever diarrhea or vomiting will be allowed to visit
Admission and Delivery Phase
- Once in the labor and delivery room, patients are allowed up to three support persons (All support people, including partner, doula, or sibling are counted in the maximum of three)
- Visitors under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult who is not the patient
- There are no restrictions visitation hours during labor and delivery
After Delivery Through Discharge
- The postpartum period begins two hours after delivery. During this time, the primary support person may stay 24/7. Other visitors are welcome from 8 am to 8 pm
- Visitors under the age of 18 (including siblings of the newborn) are not permitted to stay overnight
Violations of our visiting hours and policy may result in the loss of visitation.
