Blood and Marrow Transplant
Bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplants are procedures used to restore cells of the body that have been destroyed by high doses of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. The transplant procedure allows cancer patients to receive aggressive, high-dose treatments, since the transplanted cells are able to rebuild the patient's bone marrow following treatment.
