Recurrent Cancer
Recurrent head and neck cancer is a devastating event for the patient, providers, and family members. At the UMGCCC, we may be able to offer a new approach and treatment option for those individuals who have recurrent disease limited to the head and neck.
Our head and neck team offers unique therapies including clinical trials that are designed to treat patients with proton re-irradiation and immunotherapy.
In addition, experienced surgeons may be able to perform a surgery to remove the residual cancer, and a reconstructive surgery to restore the form and swallowing function for a patient who is affected by this challenging disease.
Our multi-disciplinary cancer team hopes to offer a new perspective on cancer care. We will meet with each new patient to review their clinical history, treatment regimen and review opportunities of various treatment regimens our multi-disciplinary team.
