At University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), Dr. Raymond oversees emergency services, oncology, medicine, cardiology and psychiatry. Across these specialties, he leads strategic planning, operational management and quality improvement initiatives to ensure exceptional patient care and outcomes.
Through his expertise and leadership, Dr. Raymond helps advance nursing and health care delivery. He also has made significant contributions to health care governance. He completed two terms on the Maryland State Board of Nursing, serving as board secretary during his second term.
Dr. Raymond's academic credentials reflect his commitment to leadership and professional excellence. He earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Management and Leadership and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON). He holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business. In addition, he is a faculty associate in the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health at UMSON. As co-chair of UMNursing, he helped strengthen the academic-practice partnership between UMMC and UMSON.
Dr. Raymond is an American Academy of Nursing fellow. He is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society.
