We will enhance our educational and training offerings, such as state-wide clinical rotations and interdisciplinary learning opportunities, for medical students, residents and fellows and other trainees to develop the best, next-generation health care professionals.

Strategies

  • In partnership with University of Maryland, Baltimore schools, develop and implement multi-year strategy to enhance trainee education and experience, and maximize opportunities for trainees to pursue careers within UMMC and UMSOM.
  • Increase opportunities for trainees to gain experience in health care leadership and administration, including programs related to leadership development, diversity and inclusion and High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices.

Measure of Success

Increase by 20% the number of trainees who pursue post-graduate careers within UMMC and UMMS.
