Located next to the adult emergency room, University of Maryland Medical Center's pediatric emergency room serves the immediate and critical needs of infants, children and teenagers.

Our fully equipped treatment areas are spacious, comfortable and safe. There is also a private area for our pediatric sexual abuse program.

Our team of pediatricians, nurses, child life specialists, social workers, and other staff are highly trained and experienced in treating ill and injured children. We provide immediate access to sub-specialty consultations as well as pediatric intensive care units. University of Maryland pediatricians provide medical direction for Maryland ExpressCare for Kids, a critical care transport program.
