Arrhythmia
Electrophysiology (EP) is the study of the heart's electrical system. It also involves the care of irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) caused by problems with that system.
At the University of Maryland Heart and Vascular Center, cardiologists who have completed additional, specialized training in their field lead our arrhythmia program. These electrophysiologists work in state-of-the-art labs, with additional care provided at hospital inpatient units and several outpatient locations.
