About Us
The University of Maryland Center for Infectious Diseases, a trusted partner of the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Institute of Human Virology (IHV), is made up of IHV faculty and partners. Our unified partnership leads the state in treating and researching infectious diseases and disorders caused by infectious organisms like bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses.
The IHV's team of dedicated faculty provide state of the art care both when a patient is hospitalized at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) and in our out-patient infectious disease practices, including those receiving outpatient intravenous antibiotic therapy (OPAT).
Through the IHV and its associated faculty and programs, patients have access to advanced, comprehensive clinical care and the latest infectious disease research, including at the IHV's Clinical Research Unit.
