Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Research and Clinical Trials
The Division has a varied and growing research program in a number of important areas, including both basic and clinical sciences. Our team is focused on cutting-edge research into the causes and treatments of diseases of the airway and lungs such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), asthma and much more. That research is implemented at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), giving hope and often improved outcomes to critically and chronically ill patients.
