Last year 8,500 people in Maryland arrived at our door. We are the trauma hospital that is specifically designated to treat the most critically injured people. Approximately 97% of our patients survived. Injury is a disease that has no age, gender, social, economic or racial boundaries. These are people who get up each day, leave their home for work or school, and end up at Shock Trauma.

We stretch each day to expand our capacity to help as we work toward the opening of the new Shock Trauma Critical Care Tower. The new building will be state-of-the-art trauma care, teaching and research.
