The Surgical Critical Care Fellowship program at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center/University of Maryland Medical Center is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited program for a total of 8 positions.
Prerequisites
Qualified applicants should meet the following prerequisites:
- Completion of ACGME-accredited general surgery residency
- Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Surgery
- Established ability as a teacher of medical students and residents
Curriculum
The fellowship year is divided into 12 monthly rotations.
Core Rotations
- 2 months: Trauma Surgery
- 1 month: Acute Care Emergency Surgery
- 2 months: Multi-Trauma Critical Care Unit
- 2 months: Neuro-Trauma Critical Care Unit
- 2 months: Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- 1 month: Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit
- 1 month: Critical Care Echocardiography
Elective
- 1 month
