Susan Hussey Joins University of Maryland Medical Center and University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute as Vice President of Human Resources

Baltimore, MD – Susan Hussey has joined the University of Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute as Vice President of Human Resources. Hussey has a strong background in employee and labor relations, and is an advocate for all employees who serve patients and community. Her strengths in relationship-building across all levels of organizations, along with her proven skills in leading complex human resources functions will be a tremendous asset.
She will have oversight for all aspects of the HR function at a both UMMC campuses as well as UM Rehab. Among her strategic areas of focus will be talent recruitment and retention, and working with leadership colleagues in several disciplines to foster employee engagement.
Hussey comes from within the University of Maryland Medical System, having been at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC) as Vice President of Human Resources since 2014. Prior to joining UM SJMC, she served in HR roles of increasing responsibility at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Stevenson University, her master's degree in human resource development from McDaniel College and earned her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
