Educational Goals
The primary goals of the rotation are to provide the student with:

Basic knowledge that is needed for the resuscitation, diagnosis and treatment of trauma patients.

Instruction in the basic clinical skills needed to treat trauma patients, and an understanding of the continuum of care involved in the treatment of trauma patients; from the scene of injury through discharge to home or to a rehabilitation facility.
A secondary goal is provide a fundamental understanding of Maryland's statewide system of trauma care.
Primary and secondary educational goals are accomplished through clinical activities and a comprehensive academic program.
Structure
There are resident rotations available for surgeons and non-surgeons. Each rotation is scheduled for a minimum of 28 days. Start dates and scheduling are available through the Office of Physician Education at 410-328-3516.
