The residency is a four-year parallel program in obstetrics and gynecology that meets all ACGME-specified requirements and is fully accredited by the RRC.

OB-GYN residency rotations cover basic obstetrics and gynecology, as well as subspecialties including:

  • General medicine
  • Genetics
  • Gynecologic oncology
  • Infertility
  • Maternal-fetal medicine
  • OB anesthesia
  • Reproductive endocrinology
  • Ultrasonography
  • Urogynecology

Additionally, residents spend half a day each week in a continuity clinic in the community.

There are currently 31 categorical resident positions; we received approval to increase our total number of residents to 32, which will occur with our incoming class of 2027. Residents train at three hospitals within Baltimore, with a majority of time being spent with University of Maryland Medical Center OB-GYN faculty.

Residents rotate to our affiliated hospital Mercy Medical Center, which is about one mile away. At Mercy, residents gain experience in obstetrics, gynecology and gynecologic oncology. View the OB-GYN year-by-year training schedule.
