How to Apply | Orthopedic Surgery Residency | University of Maryland Medical Center

Application to the Department of Orthopaedics residency program is processed through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

We require a complete ERAS application to include three letters of recommendation. It is perfectly acceptable to include extra information with your ERAS application, as well as additional letters of recommendation, as long as they can be included through the ERAS program.

Please do not send additional information outside of your ERAS application. NO additional information outside of ERAS will be included with your application for review by our faculty.

We accept foreign medical graduate applications through ERAS via ECFMG. The University of Maryland sponsors J1 Visas.

Our application deadline will be early October. We will issue interview invitations beginning November 1st each year. Our interview date will be in December. We will host an evening meet-and-greet at a local restaurant on the night before our interview date.
