Nursing Student Opportunities at UMMC
Our Clinical Scholar Program is an innovative scholarship opportunity for University of Maryland and Stevenson University students who are entering their final semester of nursing school. Students selected for the program will be offered an RN position upon successful completion of both the program and NCLEX. For nursing students ready to enhance their clinical competence and prepare for the challenging role ahead, our Student Nurse Externship Program offers in-depth training that can put your career on the fast track.
In conjunction with the University of Maryland School of Nursing, UMMC offers a 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to prepare you for success well beyond your first year as a nurse, building on the knowledge and skills honed in your previous undergraduate programs and during your unit-based individualized orientation.
Nursing Fellowships
Our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Fellowship program is designed to prepare new nurse graduates and nurses with no prior work experience in a critical care setting to perform the roles of the registered nurse in the post-anesthesia care unit/perianesthesia setting. Our OR Nurse Fellowship program similarly prepares novice nurses for success in operating room settings.
UMMC's Cardiac Nurse Fellowship Program prepares nurses to be leaders and experts across the continuum of cardiac care through mentoring, ongoing support, education and individual development.
