TTTS with PxCIs is considered incurable, but Dr. Turan and his team modified an existing fetoscopic laser surgery technique to identify and ablate only those blood vessels that were responsible for the TTTS, leaving the normal blood vessels to nourish the placenta and the fetuses.

Dr. Turan and colleagues published the results of two successful cases in the Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine.
