The birth of a child is one of the most joyous events in the life of a woman and her family. The Birthing Center at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, located at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, is proud to serve patients from Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties.

We provide a host of services, resources and educational programs, as well as the most comfortable birthing experience for mother and baby.

Childbirth and Parent Education Programs

The Birthing Center offers childbirth and parent education classes free of charge throughout the year, as well as additional educational and support group opportunities for mothers and families.

Safe Sitter® Program

The Safe Sitter® classes are taught by UM Shore Regional Health's skilled nurses and is offered to children ages 11 to 13. The course is designed to prepare students to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting other children.

Stay tuned for the 2025 Safe Sitter® course offerings! The course will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton’s Health Education Center and UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.
